Troubleshooting

  • The feature is not in that app. Pick a feature from the list for the right Opens on.
  • They lack permission for that screen.
  • It is the mobile app and "Works in the mobile app" is off. Turn it on, and check the feature is also in the mobile app.
  • The path does not exist in that app.

The link is switched off or deleted. Switch it back on from the list or the link's page. Deleted links cannot come back.

  • They may not be signed in yet. The app continues after sign-in.
  • There may be no connection when the app looks the link up.
  • Check the URL was copied from the link. A wrong prefix opens the wrong site.

The handler passes links to websites in a cookie that lasts 2 minutes and is used once, so history should hold only the clean site address. If you still see ?link=… in the address bar, the browser blocked the cookie and the link was passed in the address instead. Reopening that address runs the link again.

  • Off links are hidden by default. Set Status to All or Off.
  • Clear the other filters. The list shows 20 per page.
  • Is it a test link (id starts with TEST_)? Those record no events by design.
  • Check the link is Live. Off and deleted links record nothing.
  • Events from the link handler appear as the user deeplink_handler.

data values are missing in Mixpanel

  • The name must be listed under Dynamic params on the link, spelled exactly the same (it is case sensitive).
  • data must be valid base64url JSON, a flat object, with values under 200 characters. Use Customize link to build it.

The email pixel counts twice, or counts without a real open

Apple Mail prefetches images for every email, Gmail proxies and may reload them, and previews fetch the image again. This is expected. Count distinct users for unique opens.

The email pixel counts nothing

  • Check the link is Live and its Opens on is Email open pixel.
  • Check the URL is the pixel address (…/api/user/deepLink/pixel/<id>), not a dl.aquagen.co.in one.
  • Some email apps block images until the reader allows them.

Two events, one with details and one without

A request reached the URL without the extras (for example someone opened the base URL from the admin page). It records with no params.
